Hiking
The many forests and wetlands of Lelystad attract many hikers. There are various hiking routes in the wildlife areas and forests of the National Forest Service in the Netherlands, Flevo Landscape and the Municipality of Lelystad.
Would you like to be prepared before going out and about? Various brochures and booklets listing routes can be obtained from the Tourist Information Point at the Stadswinkel, e.g. ‘Wandelen op het Flevopad’
(€ 4,25) and ‘Op de kuierlatten’ (€ 6,50), detailing the unique paths cutting across the Flevoland and Lelystad countryside.
Walking city tour
Why does Lely stand on a pillar? What is the meaning of the curly artwork at the NS central railway station? What is the background of the Kustrif and Damrif districts? All of these questions will be answered during the new Lelystad walking city tour. The route is approximately 5 kilometres long and takes about an hour. The small guide is free of charge and can be obtained from the Tourist Information Point at the Stadswinkel.
