A wide range of artwork carachterises the public domain in Lelystad. Both in the Stadshart city centre and residential districts you will come across artists of note, both local and national.
The booklet, ‘The walking city tour’, is available at the Stadswinkel free of charge. The tour takes you alongside various artworks throughout the city.

The Robert Morris Observatory
Thousands of years ago, people found a relation between the climatologic changes and the stars in the sky. Those who regularly visit this spot during the four seasons can notice the movement of our planet in relation to the sun. The Solstice Foundation organises the Sunsation Festival around the summer solstice. The longest day of the year is celebrated with poetry, music, and visual arts.

Exposure
On 17 September 2010 Exposure was officially inaugurated by British artist Antony Gormley. This human figure of steel is 25 metres high en looks out over Markermeer Lake. Gormley ranks among the very top of contemporary visual artists and is renowned for his human images. His works are exhibited across the globe.
