HanzePark
The attractive Dudok-style architecture from the past century was chosen as theme for one of the latest districts in Lelystad. This Dutch architect (1884-1974) incorporated a sense of urbanism in his work that shows respect for green and nature. Coherence in a neighbourhood and safety in the urban living environment are expressed in his warm brick architecture. Dudok’s visual language represents warmth, ambiance, horizontal lines, and a clear sectional arrangement. The architect’s style is also clearly reflected in the decoration of the public spaces.
Warande
South of the city lies an 800-hectare area that is earmarked for development: Warande. The new city district of Lelystad offers space for 8,500 houses in an exceptionally green environment. The area is situated near the Oostvaardersplassen Lakes, Markermeer and IJsselmeer Lakes, and Hollandse Hout woodlands.
Houtribhoogte
At the outer edge of Lelystad, right next to the IJsselmeer Lake, in-between marinas and a golf course, yet not too far from the city centre, Park Houtribhoogte emerges, featuring 195 new houses. Where possible, the natural environment is preserved and the entire area will be jointly owned by the residents. The houses do not have separate gardens, which creates a park-like environment.
Flevo Golf Resort
This is a vast 18-hole and 9-hole par-3 golf course with splendid villas of various architectural styles scattered on and around the course. The American style detached and semi-detached villas with far-overhanging roofs provide a unique standard level of comfort.
Bataviahaven
This is the pearl of the Lelystad coastal line. The architect is Berliner Rob Krier, who is well known for his high-profile projects such as the Brandevoort district in Helmond. Bataviahaven consists of five special residential buildings with characteristic towers and offers panoramic views of Markermeer Lake. This unique development is built at a secluded inner harbour where transients can moor their vessels. A lively and attractive boulevard is planned at the foot of the first residential building, offering small-scale facilities such as hotel and catering establishments and shops that require a connection with water and sailing.
